VETQITp - The Veterinary Quality Improvement Training Program
VETQITp is an evidence-based modular QI training course. The aim of VETQITp is to introduce veterinary teams to the theory and practice of QI.

This course is designed for the whole practice team, including registered nurses, veterinary assistants and receptionists.
VETQITp 2
VETQITp2 is designed for any member of staff in a leadership role, including head veterinary nurses, practice managers, lead veterinary surgeons and clinical directors. VETQITp2 delegates go through the VETQITp1 program but complete their training with two additional modules on:
Module 10
Team leadership and building psychological safety
Module 11
The VetQIT Significant Event Auditing (SEA) workshop for leaders
Psychological safety is a key element of QI – helping teams communicate honestly and openly. But the benefits do not end there. Our research demonstrated just how important psychological safety is to veterinary care, and we have used this work to inform our approach to Module 10.
SEAs are the building blocks of improvement in practice. By taking a standard approach to significant events the team can implement new ways of working – to avoid a repetition of the same mistake in the future. In many respects this is QI in action. Our research has led us to create the VetQIT SEA workshop for leaders.
